Our Family – 2010

My name is Nyree, married to Nathan with two gorgeous little boys, Sam (short for Samuel) and Noah.  Currently I juggle family life with working part time as a family doctor and have just finished a Masters in public health and tropical medicine.  I thought it might be fun to start writing again and a blog is an easy way to do that, sharing stories of family life and challenges, adventures and plans.  Faith is an important part of our lives and definitely has an impact on what we do and decisions we make.  I love to read, swim and play with my boys.  Sam is our effervescent, hyper-energetic, outgoing 9 year old.   Noah is our mechanically minded little entertainer who happens to have Childhood Apraxia of Speech and at age 6 is still learning to talk.  Some of my posts will talk about our journey with helping Noah to find his voice.

We also have a heart for missions, or simply being involved with what God is doing in the world.  I have a developing love for Papua New Guinea, our nearest neighbour to Australia and have been there with a medical ship four times now with plans to return in the near future.  We’ve also been to China a few times to serve with friends who were running a home for children with disabilities.  Currently we support programs in schools in our local community.

Thanks for journeying with us!

  1. So glad I found your blog! My little guy is 3 1/2 and he also has Apraxia of Speech. My sister-in-law is from Australia, and she and my brother-in-law live there now with their two children. Miss them greatly, but such a beautiful place to live! I found your blog because we’re both in the (In)cluded group on Facebook. Will be following your blog. 🙂

    • Hi Jenn,
It’s great to hear from you. Noah must be just a little older than your son. I’m looking forward to the (In)cluded group and sharing with other mums and reading their stories too. I’ll see you there!

      • Hi Sheila. I enjoy dropping into your blog. You give some lovely insights into living faith in everyday life. And, of course – Italy! Place of my day dreams.

  2. Hi Nyree! I just found that you’d started following me some time back. Don’t know exactly why I missed seeing it before–sorry! But I just wanted to say thanks for the support, and we’re happy to have you on our journey. I’m now looking forward to following yours too, it’ll be great! Have a good day with the Lord!
